The condition report documents what a sports car or collector vehicle actually is at a given point in time: condition grade, originality, history, and the question of whether the car has been driven on track. It is needed for sales in the upper segment, for export, for collections and for insured values. You receive a signed report with an extensive photo series, measured values and grading that can be followed step by step.
In this market segment it is not the odometer reading that is paid for, but the evidence. Two vehicles that look identical can be separated by a five-figure sum as soon as one of them is missing its build data card, has lost its second key, or has had its original wheels swapped for aftermarket ones. An independent report makes these points provable – for you as the seller, the difference between an assertion and proof.

What the report covers

Condition grades: grading on the customary five-point scale, separately for body and paint, interior, mechanics and underbody, plus an overall grade with reasons. Every downgrade is tied to a specific finding, not to a general impression.

Originality check: comparison of chassis and engine numbers, transmission, paint code and the equipment codes fitted at the factory against the build data card or the manufacturer's records. We record what is original, what has been replaced and what has been added later.

Indications of track use: remaining thickness and heat pattern of the brake discs including ceramic systems, discoloration of calipers and wheel hubs, heat blistering and edge wear on the tires, condition of the suspension and strut mount bushings, operating hours, and counters stored in the control unit for launch control and rev limiter events. A track day leaves traces that rarely appear in the sales listing.

History and documents: service record book, invoices, document folder, second key, original wheels, original seats and documented previous owners. We expressly note what is missing as well – a gap in the history costs more at resale than a scratch.

Optional equipment: a complete record of the options ordered from the factory, special paint, interior packages and limited-series features, each matched to its code. In the upper segment it is precisely this list that carries a considerable share of the price.

Paint, carbon and aluminum: paint thickness measurement across the entire body compared against the paint code, assessment of repaints and color deviations, inspection of exposed carbon for yellowing, crazing and delamination, and visual inspection of the bonded and riveted seams on load-bearing aluminum parts.

Damage from standing: on collector vehicles that are driven little, flat spots and tire age, condition of rubber parts and seals, corrosion on brake discs and lines, ageing of fluids and battery care.
How it works

Appointment: you tell us the reason and the vehicle – sale, export, addition to a collection or insured value. We come to the location, including a private garage or a storage facility; a vehicle on seasonal registration does not have to be moved for it.

Inspection: a walk-around in suitable light, paint thickness measurement, recording of every mark with a scale, inspection of brakes, tires, suspension and underbody on a lift or over a pit, reading out the control units, and a review of all documents and keys.

Report: findings, photographs and measured values are brought together into the individual grades and the overall grade, supplemented by the originality assessment and a classification of which points actually move the market value.

Delivery: you receive the report digitally, as a rule on the same business day once it is complete, and can present it to prospective buyers, auction houses or your insurer straight away.
The condition report is prepared for a fixed price. There is no additional billing by time spent, and we agree the travel arrangements with you in advance.
Frequently asked questions
How can you tell whether a vehicle has been driven on track?
From a cluster of traces: overheated brake discs and discolored calipers, unusual edge wear and blistering on the tires, worn suspension bushings, a stone chip pattern in unusual places, and operating data stored in the control unit. Individually these say little; taken together the picture is unambiguous.
What do the condition grades actually mean?
They range from flawless and true to original through to in need of restoration. We award separate grades for body, interior, mechanics and underbody, and justify every step up or down with a named finding, so that a buyer can check the assessment.
Do I need the report for a sale abroad?
It helps considerably. Buyers abroad and auction houses often decide without viewing the car themselves. An illustrated report with individual grades, an originality comparison and a documented history takes the place of the confidence that, in a local sale, only comes from seeing the vehicle in person.
The car has a complete service record. Isn't that enough?
The service record book documents maintenance, not originality. Whether the engine and transmission are the original ones, whether panels have been repainted, whether the optional equipment was fitted at the factory, and whether the second key and original wheels are present – none of that appears in it. Those are exactly the points we check.
